Setting up Microsoft Outlook

The information needed for setting up your Outlook eMail account(s) is provided in your Reveille Hosting Account Information sheet emailed to you.

1.  From the Outlook main menu, click on "Tools".

2. Under "Tools", select "E-mail Accounts" which will bring up an eMail wizard (below).

3.  If you are adding a new eMail account, choose "Add a new e-mail account" and then click the "Next Button".

If you are changing an existing e-mail account, choose "View or change existing e-mail accounts" and then click the "Next" button to continue.

4.  There are six fields on this screen which you will need to complete for your User Information, Logon Information, and Server Information:

#1 "Your Name" as it will appear as the "From" in your eMails
#2 "E-mail Address" your full email address (username) shown under the eMail Accounts section of your Hosting Account Information
#3 "User Name" is the same as your email address
#4 "Password" for this email account
#5 "Incoming mail server (POP3)" setting is under the heading Email Servers on your Hosting Account Information
#6 "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" setting is under the heading Email Servers on your Hosting Account Information.
#7 When you have entered the information for the first six fields, click "More Settings" which will bring up an "Internet E-mail Settings" box.

5.  There are four fields in this first "General" Internet E-mail Settings screen:

#1 - Type the name you would like this eMail account to be referred to.  You can use your name, your email address, etc.
#2 - Enter your company or organization name
#3 - Enter the E-mail address that will receive replies to your eMails - generally this would be the same email address of the account you are setting up
#4 - Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab which will display another set of fields.

6.  Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab on this same dialog box.

On this screen, check the box labeled "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", and then click the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".  Click "OK" at the bottom which will take you to the previous screen.

7.  Click on "Next" to continue.

Click on "Finish" to close the eMail Wizard.  You are now ready to send and receive email.
